Lake and River Roasters was born in 2023, inspired by a deep appreciation for craft coffee and a desire to carry forward a legacy of excellence. Our journey began when we took the helm from Dan Miller, the master roaster behind the beloved Gato Diablo. Dan’s retirement marked the end of an era—but also the beginning of Lake & River Roasters.

Dan built his reputation on an expert understanding of the roasting process, creating perfectly balanced roasts and distinctive flavor profiles that coffee lovers came to cherish. Just as important was his commitment to sourcing ethically grown, responsibly harvested beans—ensuring every cup told a story of care, craft, and respect for the growers who make it all possible.
